Study on the Effect of Zhengzhou Xishoukang's Multi-dimensional Collaborative Health Care Intervention Model on Improving the Constitution of Sub-health Population

XOOBAYRead count: 233

The number of people in a sub-healthy state in China continues to grow, with widespread problems such as weak metabolism, poor circulation, physical fatigue, and decreased sleep quality. Traditional single-mode health care interventions have limited dimensions, long improvement cycles, and insufficient personalization, making it difficult to achieve systematic conditioning of the body's constitution. Based on the health care service base of Zhengzhou Xishoukang Health Service Co., Ltd., a multi-dimensional and synergistic health care intervention system was constructed, combining intelligent passive exercise, meridian moxibustion, individualized medicinal diet therapy, and guidance on emotional and daily life. A controlled trial was used to systematically explore the effects of this comprehensive health care program on the subjects' body composition, fatigue level, sleep quality, and TCM constitution score. Sub-healthy subjects were selected and divided into a control group (routine health education) and an intervention group (Xishoukang multi-dimensional health care program) for a 12-week intervention trial. The results showed that after 12 weeks of systematic health care intervention, the intervention group showed a significant decrease in physical fatigue score, improved sleep quality, and significant improvement in constitution indicators related to qi and blood stagnation and qi deficiency; systemic circulation and metabolic indicators were better than those in the control group. This multidimensional collaborative health and wellness model combines self-developed bionic health and wellness equipment, traditional health preservation techniques, and personalized health management. It can effectively improve the physical condition of sub-healthy people, has good feasibility for health and wellness services, and provides standardized service solutions and practical references for non-medical health and wellness institutions to carry out disease prevention and sub-health conditioning.

I. Introduction

With the fast pace of modern life, sedentary lifestyles, late nights, and irregular eating habits are prevalent, making sub-health a prominent issue affecting public health. Symptoms include persistent fatigue, stiff shoulders, neck, back, and waist, poor peripheral circulation, insomnia, and irritability. While these symptoms may not meet the diagnostic criteria for a disease, they can easily develop into chronic problems if left untreated. Relying solely on exercise, diet therapy, or physical therapy often results in slow effectiveness, poor adherence, and an unsystematic approach to treatment.

The concept of "prevention before disease occurs" emphasizes preventing illness before it manifests and holistic conditioning. It integrates traditional health preservation theories with modern health equipment and technology, achieving comprehensive improvement in physical condition through multi-dimensional joint interventions. Passive bionic exercise, warm meridian conditioning, syndrome differentiation-based dietary therapy, and guidance on healthy lifestyles are important intervention methods in the non-medical health preservation field.

Zhengzhou Xishoukang Health Service Co., Ltd., located in the East Zone of the University Science Park in Zhengzhou National High-tech Industrial Development Zone, is a national high-tech enterprise and a technology-based SME. As a non-medical health and wellness service institution, it focuses on preventative healthcare and sub-health condition management. The institution utilizes its proprietary bionic spinal intelligent multi-position health bed and digital display moxibustion device, integrating traditional health preservation theories to establish a six-stage health and wellness system: "correction, unblocking, detoxification, regulation, supplementation, and nourishment." This system forms an integrated health and wellness service model encompassing intelligent passive exercise, meridian moxibustion therapy, personalized medicinal diet therapy, and emotional and daily life management. Through long-term practice, the institution has found that traditional single-item health and wellness programs have limited effectiveness in improving the health of some sub-healthy individuals and lack a standardized and comprehensive intervention process.

Based on the actual service scenarios of the Xishoukang Health and Wellness Service Base, this paper conducts a multidimensional collaborative health and wellness intervention controlled trial to explore the effects of comprehensive health and wellness programs on improving the physical condition, fatigue status, and sleep of sub-healthy individuals. It also establishes a standardized comprehensive intervention process suitable for the operation of health and wellness institutions, providing practical evidence for similar non-medical health and wellness institutions in China to carry out sub-health conditioning services.

II. Research Subjects and Methods

2.1 Research Subjects

This study selected sub-healthy participants who underwent health assessments at the Zhengzhou Xishoukang Health and Wellness Center. Inclusion criteria included: exhibiting sub-health symptoms such as fatigue, poor sleep, limb stiffness, and poor circulation as assessed by physical fitness evaluation; having no serious organic diseases; voluntarily participating in this 12-week health and wellness observation program; and being able to cooperate with regular physical fitness tests and health and wellness interventions. Individuals with severe cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, malignant tumors, acute inflammation, or severe bone and joint diseases were excluded. A total of 80 participants were included in this study and randomly divided into an intervention group (n=40) and a control group (n=40). There were no statistically significant differences in baseline age, gender, basic physical fitness scores, sleep patterns, and fatigue indicators between the two groups, making them comparable.

2.2 Health and Wellness Equipment and Assessment Tools

Health and wellness intervention equipment: Xishoukang's self-developed bionic spinal intelligent multi-position health bed and digital display moxibustion therapy equipment.

Assessment tools: Traditional Chinese Medicine Constitution Identification Scale, Fatigue Scale (FS), Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), Body Composition Analyzer, Microcirculation Monitoring Equipment. All assessment procedures were conducted in accordance with the standardized health assessment guidelines of Xishoukang Health and Wellness Center.

2.3 Test Plan

Control group: Only routine health education and promotion were provided, including basic advice on daily diet and rest, without providing specialized health care therapy or passive exercise intervention.

Intervention group: The Zhengzhou Xishoukang multidimensional collaborative health intervention model was adopted for 12 weeks.

1. Bionic passive exercise intervention: Use a smart multi-position health bed to carry out reverse passive aerobic exercise, 3 times a week, 20 minutes each time, to relax muscle groups and promote whole-body circulation;

2. Meridian moxibustion therapy: Select acupoints according to individual constitution and carry out local warm moxibustion intervention twice a week to unblock meridians and improve cold intolerance and stiff neck and shoulders;

3. Personalized dietary therapy guidance: Based on the identification results of nine body constitutions, we will formulate seasonal dietary therapy plans and guide the combination of medicinal diets and health-preserving teas;

4. Emotional and Daily Health Management: Regular health follow-ups, guidance on rest and emotions, and training in simple home health exercises.

Before the start of the trial and at the end of the 12th week of the intervention, physical fitness assessment, fatigue score, sleep quality, microcirculation and body composition indicators were measured in both groups of subjects, and the changes in the indicators were compared.

III. Mechanism of Action of Multidimensional Collaborative Health and Wellness Model

Single health and wellness methods have limited effects, while multi-dimensional collaborative health and wellness models achieve synergistic effects of improving bodily circulation, regulating meridians, providing nutrition, and intervening in lifestyle behaviors.

Bionic passive motion relies on equipment to drive the human body in a reverse rhythm, without requiring the subject to exert any effort. It relaxes long-term tense and stiff muscles, improves blood circulation caused by prolonged sitting, and enhances the body's microcirculation. Moxibustion's warming effect acts on meridians and acupoints, warming and unblocking the meridians, and improving the problems of coldness and fatigue in people with qi deficiency and yang deficiency. Medicinal diet therapy follows the principle of constitution differentiation and regulates the internal organs through natural ingredients, strengthening the body from a nutritional perspective. Guidance on emotional and daily life helps correct bad lifestyle habits and consolidate the health and wellness effects.

The entire program works in sync with the internal and external aspects, combining physical intervention with traditional health maintenance and lifestyle modifications to form a complete health and wellness loop. Unlike the short-term relief provided by a single physical therapy session, it achieves continuous improvement in physical condition, aligning with the non-medical health and wellness service positioning of "preventive treatment".

IV. Experimental Results and Analysis

4.1 Comparison of changes in TCM constitution scores

Before the intervention, the scores for Qi deficiency and blood stasis constitution were similar in both groups. After 12 weeks of intervention, the scores for Qi deficiency and blood stasis constitution in the intervention group decreased significantly; while the scores in the control group showed no significant change. The results indicate that the Xishoukang multidimensional synergistic health regimen can effectively improve the Qi deficiency and meridian stagnation state in sub-healthy individuals and adjust imbalanced constitutions.

4.2 Comparison of physical fatigue state

The intervention group showed a significant decrease in physical fatigue scores after intervention, with participants generally reporting a reduction in feelings of heaviness and weakness; the control group showed no significant improvement in fatigue levels. Passive bionic exercise combined with moxibustion effectively relaxed tense muscle groups, improved blood and oxygen supply throughout the body, and alleviated chronic physical fatigue.

4.3 Comparison of Sleep Quality Indicators

The intervention group showed a significant decrease in the PSQI sleep index, and improvements were seen in difficulty falling asleep and frequent awakenings at night; the control group showed less change in sleep indicators. Body pain, muscle tension, and poor blood circulation are important factors affecting sleep; the multidimensional health and wellness program alleviates physical discomfort and helps improve sleep.

4.4 Microcirculation and Body Composition Indicators

The intervention group showed increased peripheral microcirculatory blood flow velocity and improved metabolic status; the control group showed no significant changes in indicators. Multidimensional health intervention promotes circulation and improves the slow metabolism in sedentary individuals.

4.5 Applicability Analysis of Health and Wellness Services

The entire health and wellness intervention program is implemented using the existing facilities, self-developed equipment, and team of health and wellness professionals at Xishoukang Health and Wellness Center. The intervention process is standardized, and health and wellness professionals can dynamically adjust the program based on the participant's physical condition. The service is highly safe, the intervention intensity is gentle, and it is well-received by middle-aged and elderly individuals, as well as those with sedentary lifestyles and sub-health conditions. This model can be standardized and replicated, making it suitable for implementation in health and wellness stores and health management centers.

V. Conclusion

A 12-week controlled rehabilitation trial was conducted on sub-healthy individuals at the Zhengzhou Xishoukang Rehabilitation Service Base. Through research on a multidimensional collaborative rehabilitation intervention model, the following conclusions were drawn:

1. The intelligent passive bionic exercise + meridian moxibustion + syndrome differentiation medicinal diet therapy + emotional and daily life guidance multi-dimensional synergistic health care model constructed by Xishoukang can effectively improve the constitution of sub-healthy people with qi deficiency and blood stasis imbalance, relieve chronic physical fatigue, improve sleep quality, and improve the whole body microcirculation.

2. This health and wellness system integrates self-developed health and wellness hardware with traditional health preservation techniques. It is non-drug and non-medical intervention, has high safety, and is suitable for sub-healthy people and middle-aged and elderly health preservation groups. The service process can be standardized and implemented.

3. Compared with simple health education, multi-faceted and coordinated health and wellness interventions have a more comprehensive and lasting effect. They not only provide short-term relaxation but also adjust imbalances in physical constitution and establish healthy lifestyle habits.

4. This complete set of health and wellness service models can serve as a standardized service plan for non-medical health and wellness institutions to carry out preventive care and sub-health conditioning, and has strong promotional value.

Further research could expand the sample size and extend the follow-up period to further observe the long-term maintenance of the health and wellness effects; and refine the graded health and wellness intervention packages for different age groups and physical conditions to continuously improve the Xishoukang multidimensional health and wellness service system.
